Inauguration Day

I know he's got many people, myself included, feeling hopeful. I think I'll echo Hecate and say "Don't fuck up". Watching the news today I've choked up several times. One particular moment that stands out was a brief interview with an older black man. Hours before the ceremony he said "I was born and raised in Alabama so you know what I'm doing here!" I don't know if today is the fulfillment of King's dream or just the beginning of the fulfillment of his dream. Either way, it's an historic day worth celebrating.

Congratulation Mr. President! Here's hoping your good intentions come to fruition!

I wish I could agree; Been watching politics and the antics for too long. Doesn't matter what body occupies the puppethead position that is the "commander-In-Chief"; SSDD (same shit different dude).
We'll see some positive, some negative. But it's not just our nation; the entire world is as fucked up as a football bat right now...
I'd love to see some stability return, but aint holding my breath.
Where we-- Nation and World-- are in two years will hopefully prove me wrong.

I understand your pessimism. And I share it to an extant. I wasn't all googley-eyed over Obama as some were but I thought he was, by far, the better choice. I know it won't all be roses; he's already made choices I don't like. But he's got to be better than Bush.

Definitely can't do any worse. Might GET worse before (IF?) it gets better, because jay-dubbya did a real# on us... we'll wait, and see.
And Work... always that!
