Tie Dye and Batik Experiments

This is a experimental piece that has taught me some valuable lessons. First, if I want to mix batik and tie dye, and have both methods produce visible results, it's best to tie dye first and then batik. Secondly, dye can be painted on but it helps to keep track of the spirals; as you can see from above I messed those up. Third, mixing the tie dye and batik can produce a great feeling of depth. The next one turned out pretty good, considering I don't really know what I'm doing.

The First Good Tie Dye

This is my first good tie dye. The colors are, in reality, much more vibrant but the camera apparently dulled them a bit. The background is deep purple (ha ha *smoke on the water fire in the sky*) with pink. I'm pretty proud of this one and I knew it was good when my brother immediately asked if he could have it. I said yes cuz that's just the kinda gal I am.
